Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was birthed at Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident from the moment she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her first attempt, Felix placed second in the 200 meters race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation signing a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas prior to matriculating at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. A year later Felix earned her very first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making a junior world record by sprinting 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. Felix was also the youngest participant in the 200-meter race in the world championships in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, by beating the long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked in the top three of athletes at her particular events.
